I’ve spent more than twenty years building software products.

AI reached me the ordinary way — I started using LLMs for work and for everyday things, and found I couldn’t leave the question alone. What are these systems actually doing? That pulled a second question along behind it, one I hadn’t expected to care about: how does human thinking work, and what could it teach us about building better thinking machines? The two questions turn out to be less alike than the vocabulary suggests, and keeping them apart is most of the interesting work.

Alongside that, life has been moving me somewhere else. Reading the lives of Lord Rama, Sita Ma, Hanuman, and Sai Baba, what stays with me isn’t doctrine — it’s conduct. The way they lived is genuinely astonishing to me, and that astonishment is where my search in spirituality began. It is still much closer to a search than to a settled position, and I expect to write about it that way.

So this blog runs in three streams:

• Tech — software, systems, and language models
• Mind — how thinking works, in brains
• Spiritual — the search, reported honestly

These aren’t one argument in three parts. They’re three things I’m actually occupied with, and I’d rather set them side by side than force them into something tidier than the truth.
